Guess who will continue killing children after they are elected for U.S. President

After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on 18 April 2007, upholding the U.S. wide ban on partial-birth abortion (PBA) in a 5-4 vote, current presidential hopefuls weighed in with their comments.

As would be expected, the Democratic runners disagreed strongly.

Hillary Clinton:

"This decision marks a dramatic departure from four decades of Supreme Court rulings that upheld a woman's right to choose and recognized the importance of women's health. Today's decision blatantly defies the Court's recent decision in 2000 striking down a state partial-birth abortion law because of its failure to provide an exception for the health of the mother. As the Supreme Court recognized in Roe v. Wade in 1973, this issue is complex and highly personal; the rights and lives of women must be taken into account. It is precisely this erosion of our constitutional rights that I warned against when I opposed the nominations of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito."

Barack "Obamanation" Obama:
"I strongly disagree with today’s Supreme Court ruling, which dramatically departs from previous precedents safeguarding the health of pregnant women. As Justice Ginsburg emphasized in her dissenting opinion, this ruling signals an alarming willingness on the part of the conservative majority to disregard its prior rulings respecting a woman’s medical concerns and the very personal decisions between a doctor and patient. I am extremely concerned that this ruling will embolden state legislatures to enact further measures to restrict a woman's right to choose, and that the conservative Supreme Court justices will look for other opportunities to erode Roe v. Wade, which is established federal law and a matter of equal rights for women."

John Edwards:
"I could not disagree more strongly with today's Supreme Court decision. The ban upheld by the Court is an ill-considered and sweeping prohibition that does not even take account for serious threats to the health of individual women. This hard right turn is a stark reminder of why Democrats cannot afford to lose the 2008 election. Too much is at stake - starting with, as the Court made all too clear today, a woman's right to choose."

It is amazing how these presidential "hopefuls," God forbid that they be elected, can take one of the most gruesome methods of murder, and veil it in "choice" language!

Do these people really think people are that stupid to actually believe that PBA could save a woman's life? The fact is that the whole body of the baby is already born, when the baby is cruelly murdered by driving scissors into the bottom of the skull and the brains sucked out, while the head is still in the cervix! How could this prevent a woman's death?

It does not save a woman's life, but rather, it murders a baby that needs ONLY another 6 inches to go for a complete birth!

Darfur continues its unspeakable acts of abuse

Darfur continues to be a part of this earth where human life is not even worthy of being called a commodity!

Whether it is a rebel group, the Sudanese armed forces or the Janjaweed (government backed Arab militias), it seems that ethics and the value of human life are inconsequential!

Simply put, they do not care, as long as they can reach their goals! Which is complete domination!

Children and women are enduring "unspeakable acts of violence and abuse" in the form of murder, rape, abduction, torture and child recruitment as fighters!

When will this stop? This, while politicians from all over sit and talk! How many talks haven't they had already. Yet, there is no evidence that their talking has made any difference!

When I think back of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, I am reminded that while organizations such as the U.N. (Useless Nations) were talking, almost a million people were slaughtered in a very short period of time.

This so-called civil war in Sudan has been going on for 21 years.

All I can say to all these "concerned" governments involved in the Darfur problem is, "keep talking, while the people keep dying!"

Talk is cheap!

Stopping these "unspeakable acts of violence and abuse" will take extraordinary acts by extraordinary brave people.

Who will these brave people be?

Have a look at the heartbreak caused in Darfur.

Do you care? You better! You may be next!

Virginia Tech killings

As with most responses to the Virginia Tech slayings, there are some knee-jerk reactions. Of course, the greatest knee-jerk reaction comes from the anti-gun lobby. It is almost like an involuntary impulse. Action: "bang!"... Reaction: "Ban guns!" You know, like the old dictum: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The shooter turns out to be Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old South Korean, a resident alien enrolled as a senior English major at Virginia Tech, who moved to the U.S. in 1992 with his parents.

My question would be, "How can a gunman get to kill so many people and then turn on himself? And, this with no one stopping him?"

This happened exactly because the anti-gun lobby shouted, "Ban guns!" The fact is, gun-free zones are only adhered to by law abiding citizens. So, as can be easily attested to, the gun-free zones at campuses created by the Virginia legislature, led to the death of 33 unarmed, defenceless people at Virginia Tech!

So, instead of gun bans being the solution, they are actually the problem!

Just last year, a bill was killed by the Virginia legislature that would have enabled those with permits for concealed weapons, to carry their guns with them on campus.

The problem with gun-free zones or societies, is that it becomes a free-for-all for the criminals while the victims remain defenceless against murderous attacks!

The fact is that one person with a gun could have stopped the spree as soon as it started! It is impossible to have the police everywhere.

Unarmed citizens become unarmed victims!

The 'Left' redefining Easter?

It seems that whenever a Christian holiday (read 'holy day') comes up, the 'Left' go nuts!

What is it with them? Maybe we should redefine some of the 'holy days' belonging to the 'Left!'

Of course, two of the most 'holy days' for the 'Left' are Evolution Day (Scopes Trial - 21 Jul 1925) and Abortion Day (22 Jan 1973).

Of course, we know that the "left" had already redefined the Scopes case in its grossly inaccurate film, Inherit the Wind. So, there is no redefinition necessary there, just the need for a redressing of the facts of the case.

Then of course, there is Abortion Day! Here, the 'Left' neatly packaged the lie of abortion as the right of 'choice.' Let's redefine it to speak the truth! It is murder! It is NOT about choice, but about immorality and selfishness. The immorality and selfishness of the parents or one of them. The one who should have the choice,
is never given the choice, but is rather eliminated: the unborn child!

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, decided to take it upon himself to redefine Easter!

irrelevU.N.t

What can I say about the U.N. (United Nations)?

It seems to me that they want unity at all costs! The problem is that they have no clue whatsoever what the cost is going to be! This organization must be the most inept body of people on this planet! Actually, when it comes to risk assessment, I think the word 'inept' is a way too clever word to use!

They keep on bungling ahead making the weirdest decisions, and some of those decisions have cost the lives of millions, i.e. Rwandan Genocide! See my post, Useless U.N.

Anne Bayefsky, has brought something very interesting to light in her thought-provoking article A Disarming Election.

Can you believe it? Make the wolf the guard of the sheep pen!? Bayefsky calls the move by the U.N. to reelect Iran "as a vice chairman of the U.N. Disarmament Commission" a "moment extraordinaire." This means that she calls it an extraordinary, uncommon, remarkable moment. Is it really that extraordinary, uncommon, remarkable for the U.N. to be so obtuse? I think not! It happens with too much regularity! It is like having some of the greatest human rights violating countries on the Human Rights Council at the U.N.! Oh, sorry, I forgot! Those violators are on that council! Countries like China and Saudi Arabia!

So, as you can see, reelecting Iran
"as a vice chairman of the U.N. Disarmament Commission" isn't really that extraordinaire! It has become very ordinary, common and unremarkable for the U.N. to bungle along as they prove themselves to be so very clever to the U.N. "lovers" while those with discernment can clearly see just how irrelevU.N.t this organization has become!

It is like putting a murderous psychopath in charge of innocent children and defenseless women!

Anybody with the smallest amount of sagacity can see the folly of the actions of this U.N.wise organization!

Who is Ahmadinejad really?

With countries like South Africa standing behind Iran's current regime, it is only fitting to ask the question, "Who is Ahmadinejad really?" South Africa claims to be helping Iran in its nuclear quest, on what level I do not know.

"Yesterday Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad greeted the 15 British sailors and marines kidnapped by Islamic Revolutionary Guards with a smile and gifts before their release from two weeks of captivity. This made-for-television event quickly made the rounds of the cable news channels, broadcasting Ahmadinejad’s smiling face to the world. As he becomes a more recognizable figure to even casual news watchers, what is often glossed over is how little most in the West really know about him. Who is the real Ahmadinejad?

"The answers to these questions actually lie within Ahmadinejad’s history, something about which he and the Iran government have been less than forthcoming."

HUMAN SLAVE TRADE FOR 2010 WORLD CUP

I received the following from the email distribution list of Christian Action.

HUMAN SLAVE TRADE FOR 2010 WORLD CUP

Doctors for Life International (DFL) is
appalled by the fact that South Africa would consider rolling out the welcome mat for organised crime syndicates who trade in human lives, exploiting the poor and desperate, and forcing them into the sex trade.

In an address to Parliament, the National Police Commissioner, Jackie Selebe, asked that prostitution and public drinking be legalised for the duration of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

One wonders how the average policeman must keep his motivation if the Commander-in-Chief is capitulating simply because he is overwhelmed by the crime in the country. We also find it strange for the government to pass new legislation on smoking in private places (which is much more difficult to enforce) while wanting to give up policing intoxication in public places because of the lack of staff to enforce the law.

Approximately 40 000 women and children were trafficked into Germany to accommodate the demand for sex during the World Cup Games. The same can be expected for South Africa and as women and children are being used as merchandise to cash in on the event, they, however, will not be the ones to benefit. Pimps, syndicates and drug dealers will be lining their pockets and are not about to go away at the end of the games.

Prostitution is an act of violence, which is intrinsically harmful and traumatising to people in prostitution. Improving the circumstances under which the prostitute works does not reduce the harm done. In South Africa, the cry for help in this regard was echoed in a survey carried out among 475 sex workers. When asked, “What do you need?” 89% replied, “To leave prostitution”. 75% of the responders wanted job training that would enable them to get out of the trade.

On the other hand, as it is the vision of DFL to protect and enhance “life” in its broader context, we have been intensively involved in formulating strategies that prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Prostitution is one of the major contributing factors to the spread of HIV/AIDS and therefore one of our biggest concerns. The likelihood of contracting HIV/AIDS or any other Sexually Transmitted Infection is proportional to the number of sexual partners a person has. The overall HIV prevalence amongst people in prostitution in South Africa has been reported to be as high as 56%, almost twice as high as the general population.

DFL is therefore calling on government to take immediate action against the sexual exploitation of women and children for the 2010 world cup, take precautionary measures to curb the further spread of HIV and AIDS and find other suitable ways to attract revenue.

The Sexual Offences Act 23 of 1957 criminalises the keeping of a brothel as well as sex for reward. In Jordan v The State (2002) the Constitutional Court confirmed the constitutionality of the crimes of prostitution and brothel keeping. (DFL provided expert evidence as to the health risks surrounding prostitution in this case). Prostitution is therefore completely illegal for all ages in South Africa. However, Parliament is also in the process of amending the Sexual Offences Act which, if passed, will specifically impose severe sentences for child prostitution. In the Jordan case the Constitutional Court also criminalised the paying for sex – making the prostitute and the client equally culpable.

We want more!

When is enough, enough? When MPs keep on demanding more, but do not fulfill their mandate as given by their constituencies, should they be rewarded with increased salary hikes?

Will any amount of money really be enough?

Members of Parliament say R643,800 a year is not enough!

Here in South Africa we have what is called ministers of parliament. They hold the main portfolios in the cabinet of government. So, there could be a minister of Defence. These ministers are all directly under the President.

After the President and his ministers, there are the members of parliament (MPs).

Now, some of these MPs seem to think that a proposed pay increase of 5.4% just is not enough. After the increase, ordinary MPs will earn an annual package of R643,800. These ordinary MPs wanted a greater increase (some expected up to 50% increases), "to close what they see as a 'gap' between their earnings and the salaries commanded by more senior parliamentarians."

It just seems to me like these MPs are greedy! I will give my eye-teeth for a salary like that! Why do they want so much more? If they did receive a 50% increase, they would earn in the region of R910,000 annually. It is simply a lust for money! The way this country is run, I do not think they deserve a raise at all. Do they realize that the money they want was handed over to them in the form of taxes as payment for serving the people, not that they could go blow it on lifestyles that are not commensurate with the offices they hold! These people are public servants, elected to SERVE in government, not to spend the money of the electorate on frivolous lifestyles!

How many of these people are in government because they want a better life for all, and want to serve their constituencies? Then, how many of these are there because it provides a salary, and that is about as far as they think? My guess is that the second group would be greater than the first!

The fact that the word "minister" means "servant" simply escapes these people. That goes for the ministers and most of the MPs. In my opinion, these people are not there to serve, but to rule and to lust after power and money!

Even though he only recommended a 5.4% increase for MPs, Judge Dikgang Moseneke, head of the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers, said that better pay for office bearers would help combat corruption.

Throwing money at problems will not necessarily do away with them! Some of the richest people on the planet are extreme criminals! Surely, the judge cannot believe what he said?! When the lust for money takes over, no amount of money will satisfy it. Some of the most corrupt people are people with lots of it!

To combat corruption in government, simply have a zero-tolerance policy. Currently, it seems, corrupt officials simply get a slap on the wrist, and some cases they are suspended... with FULL pay! Corrupt government officials should be sent to jail for violating the trust of the people!

While it is an honour for some to serve in parliament as MPs, others seem to be there for the gravy train. Those that do not want to serve, MUST be relieved of their posts.

The reason why this country keeps going lower and lower in corruption, crime and other immoralities, is that the current ANC majority government has a whole bunch of free-loaders as ministers and MPs. Simply look at the ministers' report card! These free-loaders are sucking up the resources of this country like resource-thirsty sponges. They are the parasites of society and need to be replaced!

Why must the people of this country pay the salaries of those who do NOT want to do the work to which they were elected?

African leaders have no moral resolve

The leaders of 14 Southern African countries met at a Southern African Development Community summit to discuss the problems caused by Zimbabwean dictator, Robert Mugabe.

In a statement, these spineless leaders said,

"The extraordinary summit appeals for the lifting of all forms of sanctions against Zimbabwe... The extraordinary summit appeals for the lifting of all forms of sanctions against Zimbabwe... [and] reaffirms its solidarity with the government and the people of Zimbabwe."
The South African government was also represented.

It seems to me that these leaders fail to grasp the level of human rights violations that are committed by Mugabe and his evil regime!

It is morally reprehensible that these leaders, including the South African leaders, would rather do nothing, and say next to nothing on this issue that might just offend the dictatorship of Robert Mugabe!

Mugabe has become one of the most arrogant African presidents, because in his mind, the SADC leaders are behind him.

I can understand the solidarity of SADC with the people of Zimbabwe, but with Mugabe's evil regime?

In many people's minds, Mugabe has become the clown of Africa. However, when I think of him as a clown, it certainly is not a funny clown, but rather a clown such as Pennywise the evil alien clown portrayed in Stephen King's 1990 TV mini-series "It."

Mugabe has single-handedly taken the "bread basket" of Africa and turned it into the "African ruins!" He has proven himself to be an evil, self-possessed man with nothing on his mind but his own grasp on power to the detriment of millions in Zimbabwe!

The fact that the SADC leaders are not saying anything forceful enough against Mugabe's regime, nor doing anything to prevent him from perpetrating his evil on his own people makes them just as guilty as he is!

John Piper says, "he who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

South Africa is Zimbabwe's immediate southern neighbour, and multiple thousands of Zimbabweans are escaping Zimbabwe into South Africa every month. Yet, Mbeki keeps on doing nothing concerning Mugabe's human rights violations. I keep wondering about this. Is South Africa indeed a "friend of torture?"

It seems to me that bravery and principle is something of the past! Is there NO African leader brave and principled enough to say, "Mugabe, enough is enough! It is NOW time for you to resign!"
