Racistic hatred in South Africa far from over

The Rainbow Nation, as South Africa has been dubbed, is far from reality as seen in the real world. The Rainbow Nation was a virtual nation that never came to fruition. Actually, it is a farce. Since Nelson Mandela and the ANC took charge of the country back in 1994, the expected euphoria for the so-called new democracy in South Africa has died. It was expected that when the black majority took over the ruling of the country that the Rainbow Nation would lead to peace and harmony between all nationalities within our borders.

However, that has been proven as a false notion since, racism and xenophobia are still going strong on all sides. Not so long ago South Africa was ensconced in xenophobic attacks on foreigners from other African states that not only brought shame upon South Africa as a nation, but shocked the world that such hatred could still exist in a nation like South Africa.

Apart from the rampant xenophobia in South Africa, racism is still very active and its end in South Africa is not in sight. This was recently noticed on Facebook, where at least two South African Facebook groups promoted virulent forms of racism. The one was on the PAC's Facebook group (also see IOL)and the other on a group called Blackwash. On both these groups there were threats of violence and murder by blacks against whites.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, no country has ever removed racism from their society by passing laws against racism. It is true that if there are no laws against racism, then society will disintegrate into violence and death. Yet, these same laws cannot stop racism or hate. It can only deter the most wayward forms of racism, similar to our high security walls around properties can only deter crime, not completely stop it.

Paula Weston writes:
"One of the prevalent evidences of man’s inhumanity to man is racism. Put simply, racism is prejudice against people of other ‘races’1 for that reason alone. Stereotypical rules are applied to demean individuals based on their cultural background, skin colour, appearance, or accent.

"More often than not, these rules allow an unfounded assumption of superiority over that individual, which in turn justifies any feelings of disdain or indifference towards them. In truth, this attitude is usually based on nothing more than fear, ignorance, and misunderstanding. The manifestations of racism can be blatant, such as in hatred from the Ku Klux Klan or the oppressiveness of apartheid; it can also be as simple as telling degrading anecdotes or possessing a cold attitude of indifference."
Racism is a coward's way of dealing with differences between people. Racism also stems from the fact that some people think that they are better than others. How absolutely ignorant they are! We all eat when hungry, we all pay the same for food, we all use the toilet when nature calls. We are all intrinsically the same with no one better than another. Some may be better off than others with better stations in life, but no one is better than another. Ignorance and hatred are two of the fuels used in racism.

One of the greatest modern instigators of racism is the theory of evolution. Carl Wieland writes:
"The sinful desire to dominate, reject, ignore or mistreat others for one’s own particular motives has never required much excuse. However, Darwin gave it a tremendous impetus, as has been shown before by both evolutionist and creationist writers...

"We have already documented1 the murderous trade in body parts to northern hemisphere museums, based on Darwin’s teaching that indigenous Australians were living ‘missing links’. Early atrocities against Aborigines (which were also often ‘justified’ by pre-Darwinian evolutionary ideas) frequently brought swift retribution from the authorities. But after Darwin’s work appeared, such horrors, of all types, were much more often officially sanctioned."
Racism, today based mostly on skin colour, is seriously juvenile. It is a sign of immaturity and social ineptitude of the highest order. The fact is that skin colour holds no basis for claiming any differences. As Jerry Moore writes:
"Many people still think that 'light' skin is somehow tremendously different from 'dark' skin, in spite of the scientific evidence that shows overwhelming biological similarity among all the people of the world.

"However, over the past four decades, sophisticated studies of human skin pigmentation using special stains and the electron microscope have shown that the differences in skin pigmentation among the so-called races of mankind are only very minor.

"A world-renowned authority in clinical dermatology, Dr Anthony du Vivier at London's King's College Hospital, accurately sums up present scientific knowledge on the subject: 'There are the same number of melanocytes [pigment-forming cells] to be found in both Negroid and Caucasian skin.'"
"Racism," in fact, is a misnomer, since God only made one race, the human race. Many cultures, but one race.

Can South Africa's race problems be solved? NO! Is that a categorical 'NO?' NO! However, while South Africa continues to deny the God of the Bible, there will be no reconciliation apart from the superficial "niceness" forced on us by liberals. South Africa, especially its Christians--70% of South Africans claim to be Christian--need to work at this. Is it going to be easy? NO! Will it be worth the effort? YES!
