ACDP believes Markinor statistics about its growth

Politics is a funny thing. Sometimes hilarious, and at other times very sad! Politics is about numbers.

Politicians, by high numbers are made glad,
The same, by low numbers are made gloomy and sad.
The latest Markinor opinion poll has been released and some parties are happier than others about this opinion poll.

ACDP President, Kenneth Meshoe
One of those parties that has shown gladness at the results is the ACDP. The president of the ACDP, Kenneth Meshoe said in a party news release:
"The Markinor results are very pleasing and show the ACDP to be growing which is not evident for other opposition parties.

"This growth confirms that the ACDP is the party of the future; we believe the DA has reached its glass ceiling and note recent comments by various political analysts who stated that the ID would have ceased to exist had it not joined up with the DA.

Do people really believe this is good fashion?

Fashion shows fascinate me. I cannot believe that designers make so much money from making the absolute rubbish in fashion that they call haute couture! Further, I wonder why such lovely ladies would sell their souls and dignity to wear some of the absolute hilarity that these people call fashion!

Can you really imagine yourself wearing anything like this apart from Halloween? Surely this is a joke and cannot be taken seriously? Are these designers even in touch with reality? Or, maybe they escaped from Wonderland, i.e. Alice in Wonderland?

South Africa soon to experience its own Body Snatchers

John W. Whitehead
John W. Whitehead writes:
"Yet even in our present police state, with our lives and bureaucratic structure now oriented around a fear of the next terrorist attack, the underlying principle remains the same as it was over 50 years ago--namely, can we hold onto our basic freedoms and avoid succumbing to the soul-sucking dredge of conformity that threatens our very humanity?

"This question is at the heart of director Don Siegel's 1956 classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a film that not only captured the ideology and politics of its day but remains timely and relevant as it relates to the worries that plague us today.

Are you Whole Life?

Many times we say that we are prolife. However, we need to become broader than that and become "whole life!"

ACSA blames others for soccer semi-final bungle at airport

In this day and age, it is truly difficult to find people, especially companies, that will do the honourable thing and take responsibility for their own bungling of situations. Such a situation happened this week when many fans could not get to the semi-final between Spain and Germany, which Spain won by beating Germany 1-0.

According to ACSA (Airports Company South Africa), the Central Airspace Management Unit system failed, private plane operators took parking spots not allocated to them (our local taxi drivers must've piloted these planes), more planes arrived at the King Shaka's Airport than usual and low clouds prevented planes from landing. The gods must have conspired against the airport on that day!

Telkom to enter mobile market in South Africa

South Africa is by no means a rich country. Yet, somehow it flourishes in the mobile phone market. Currently we have 3 mobile operations (MTN, Vodacom and Cell-C). We used to have Virgin Mobile, but I never met anyone that actually used them.

Later in the year, the 4th mobile operator in the form of Telkom will enter the South African market. Is there really anything that Telkom can add to the market apart from its current monopoly in the fixed-line market? Yes, I know, we do have a 2nd fixed-line operator in the form of Neotel, but have you heard of anyone, except Neotel employees, using them in a private capacity?
